Creativity Workshop in Provence

Register Now

Program Overview

The Creativity Workshop in Provence will take place in the ancient Roman town of Arles, made famous for its superb vistas by the painters Van Gogh and Gauguin. It is a sleepy town of winding streets and brightly colored houses, of picturesque cafes and sumptuous outdoor markets. The area around Arles is known for its natural beauty, especially in the Camargue, a nature preserve. Provence is one of France's most spectacular regions. It is a land of sun-drenched landscapes, quaint villages, and cuisine.

More on Program Overview

Each day the Creativity Workshop in Provence will meet for approximately 3½ hours. We will explore ways to expand our creativity through a series of exercises including guided visualizations, creative writing, memoir, oral storytelling, automatic writing, map making, photography, collage, and free-form drawing. Many of the exercises are focused on the helping you see and absorb this remarkable city.

The exercises and talks by the instructors will focus on ways to:

  • Learn practical techniques to stimulate creativity, imagination, and innovative thinking

“The Workshop was a wonderful celebration of our individual possibilities. Everyone jumped in wholeheartedly and supported each other's undertakings. One of the biggest surprises was the effect of drawing on my work and life. I'm one of those non- drawing people, but as I sketched, it helped me to see more and more. I can't wait to take the Workshop again. It is food for life.”
